COUNTRY COTTAGE DELIGHT!

Quince Cottage is one of 5 super charming quintessentially Cornish properties in a courtyard setting and with use of the communal courtyard garden, Quince is a single storey conversion with 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and parking and is simply lovely!

Access this cottage from the courtyard and enter directly into the open plan living space. The kitchen is to the left and has a range of wall and base units in a light maple colour topped off with pale laminate worktops. It has a fridge freezer, dishwasher and free standing cooker. A large pine table provides ample dining space.

The living area is lit by a roof light and has a light and airy feel about it and has two sofas and a coffee table centred around the open fire place.

A hallway leads from the kitchen to the three bedrooms. There is a twin and two doubles. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower and there is an additional bathroom between bedrooms two and three.

Quince Cottage is centrally heated and linen is provided.  Guests are asked to bring their own towels please.

The Cottages:

These lovely old stone Cottages are located in a peaceful rural setting yet close to the popular North Cornwall Coast including Rock, Padstow and Newquay.

The Cottages sit sociably around a central courtyard, the hub of the place. Here guests mingle and admire the valley, Withiel Church and the River Ruthern protected by its Otters. Public Footpaths and Bridal Ways as well as Forestry form part of this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Cottages are Dog Friendly and Guests will be spoilt for choice for walks nearby. Mill and Clove Cottages boast their own gardens and all the cottages are cosy and spacious with well equipped kitchens and open log fires. All cottages also benefit from Wireless Internet Access

Ideal for family and group holidays (Group bookings are popular) with the advantage of a dining room seating 20 people and David your host provides delicious dinners and breakfasts if required.

David is also a keen Golfer and would be delighted to arrange Golf for guests.

The Area:

Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a stone’s throw from Bodmin, Wadebridge, Padstow and the A30, Tregawne is accessible to all of Cornwall’s treasures from Lands End to Bodmin Moor.

Walking & Cycling Breaks:

There is excellent walking on the doorstep, including the The Camel Trail and the Saints Way (one mile away) and the Coast Path (only 25 minutes away). If you fancy a two-wheeled adventure cycle the picturesque Camel Trail that runs from Padstow to Bodmin (one mile away). Bikes are available for hire in Wadebridge.

Golf:

Your host David is a member of St.Enodoc and Trevose Golf Clubs. He is happy to arrange golf at these world-class courses for a discounted rate (parties of up to 16 people), and there are many other courses nearby.

Surfing:

There is fantastic surfing at Polzeath, Newquay and Watergate Bay (25-30 mins away). Lessons and surfboard hire are available.

Dogs:

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Tregawne Cottages and there are lovely walks in the area.

Eden Project & Cornwall’s Gardens:

The Eden Project is just 20 minutes away, and Tregawne is close to many more of Cornwall’s beautiful houses gardens (see www.gardensofcornwall.com for a full listing).

Art Courses:

Artist Janet Shearer, author of 'The Art Of Illusion', holds art courses just 1/4 mile away (01208 831926 for more information).

Shooting & Fishing Breaks:

Tregawne is perfectly situated for local shooting parties. See www.cornishshooting.com for more information. There is excellent salmon and sea trout fishing on the Tamar (ends mid Oct), Camel River and the River Fowey (both end in Dec) rivers.

Restaurants & Pubs:

Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant and other first-class eateries are within arm’s reach at Padstow; and there are plenty more foodie hotspots on the doorstep that we can recommend.

Tregawne Doggy Code:

As a dog lover themselves, the owners of Tregawne understand the advantages of taking your four legged best friend on holiday too and also understand from experience why many accommodation owners say 'NO' to dogs!

They would be grateful if guests bringing their best friends follow Tregawne's doggy code:

  • Please do not leave your dog alone in your cottage at anytime during your stay.
  • Please do not allow your dog in cottage bedrooms or on uncovered furniture.
  • We do request that dogs are kept under control at all times for their own safety and also for the comfort of other guests.
  • Due to health and safety regulations it's important that you pick up after your dog(s) and dispose of poo in the outside bin labelled 'dogs'. Remember also to bring poo bags with you.
  • I regret that an additional flat charge of £50.00 will have to be made if carpets, rugs, furniture covers or bedspreads require additional cleaning.
  • Doggy Tariff: First dog is free of charge and any second dog is £20.00 per week
