Puffins is a uniquely designed property which won awards from RIBA and Bristol Architecture Centre for architectural and sustainable design in 2000.

The house is located in the small village of Treknow, one mile south of Tintagel.  The cliff is 400 metres away and then it’s a 10 minute walk to the beach at Trebarwith Strand.  Trebarwith beach is excellent for surfing and swimming.  The nearby cliff walks are wonderful as well as on nearby Bodmin Moor.  A walk away from the house, in the valley below, is a very good pub – The Mill Inn - with an excellent restaurant.  There is also the Port William just above the beach at Trebarwith...perfect!  The house has a solar panel for water heating with back-up from an immersion heater.

Puffins has three bedrooms, a main double bedroom, a smaller double and a bunks room.  Puffins can accommodate 4 people in comfort but up to 7 at a pinch!   We say this to be absolutely clear.  If you want to squeeze a few more in, then please do, but we cannot take responsibility if you find the house too small for more than four guests!

A compact, but comfortable open-plan living room / kitchen / diner forms the heart of the property which has access on to an enclosed terrace through a full length glass door.  These allow light to flood into the living space.

This is a lovely light room with a wood-burning stove. Natural light streams into the corridor beyond through skylights. The kitchen has all the usual appliances plus a large fridge freezer and a washing machine. There is a BBQ on the terrace plus table and chairs for outdoor meals.

  • Cars may easily be parked on the road outside where there are no restrictions
  • Night storage heaters and wood burner in the winter
  • Electricity to be paid for - £1 coin meter
  • Please bring your own linen and towels

Beaches:  Trebarwith Strand just down the cliff!  Further afield are Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Harlyn and Constantine to name a few!
